چکیده
A value of (−6.1 ± 0.9stat ± 0.5syst) × 10 is obtained for the quadratic slope parameter h in the KL → 3π decay Dalitz plot at the NA48 experiment at the CERN SPS. The result is based on 14.7 × 10 fully reconstructed KL → 3π → 6γ decays. This is the most precise measurement of any of the Dalitz plot slope parameters in the charged and neutral kaon decays so far. 1 Present address: High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK), Tsukuba, Ibaraki, 305-0801, Japan 2 Present address: EP, CERN, CH-1211, Geneva 23, Switzerland 3 Based at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Chilton, Didcot,OX11 0QX, U.K 4 Present address: NIKHEF, PO Box 41882, 1009 DB Amsterdam, The Netherlands 5 Funded by the U.K. Particle Physics and Astronomy Research Council 6 On leave from Sezione dell’INFN di Firenze, I-50125 Firenze, Italy 7 Present address: SLAC, Stanford, CA 94309, USA 8 Present address: Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, USA 9 Dipartimento di Fisica dell’Universita’ di Modena e Reggio Emilia, via G. Review of NA48 CP violation measurements with neutral and charged kaons
The main goal of the NA48 experiments at the CERN SPS has been the search for direct CP violation (CPV) in kaon decays. In this paper results from NA48 and NA48/2 are presented. The direct CPV parameter Re(ε′/ε) has been measured by NA48 from the decay rates of neutral kaons into two pions: combining the results from data collected in 1997, 98, 99 and 2001, an overall value of Re(ε′/ε) = (14.7 ...
متن کاملDirect CP Violation in KL → π + π − γ
CP violation due to interference between KL and KS decays into π +π−γ is analyzed in the Standard Model. The CP-violating parameter ǫ+−γ , which is the difference between η+−γ and η+−, receives dominant contributions from K 0− K̄ mixing and the gluon penguin diagram; its magnitude is calculated to be 10−2ǫ at a typical region of the Dalitz plot. Genuine direct CP violation in KL → π+π−γ decay or...

We have measured the ratio I’(KiR+?~-~)/I’(KL -+ all) to be (6.2 f 2. 1)x10e5. I The rate and Dalitz plot distribution of 24 events are consistent with CP conservation in this weak-electromagnetic decay. (Submitted to Physical Review Letters) t Work supported in part by the U. متن کاملNew results on kaon decays from NA48
We report on recent results on rare and semileptonic kaon decays from NA48 and NA48/2. Using data from a minimum bias run in 1999 we present a new measurement of the CP violating decay KL → π π with over 40000 selected events. We measured the ratio Γ(KL → π π)/Γ(KL → π eν) = (4.835± 0.038)×10 leading to the precise determination of the CP violation parameter |η+ −| = (2.223±0.013)×10 −3 . From ...
متن کاملA Measurement of the K " / K " Branching Ratio , ~ 3 e 3 the K 13 Form Factors , and the K " Decay Parameters
In a hydrogen bubble chamber experiment with a KL beam we have measured the K" /K" ~3 e3 branching ratio to be R = .741 * .044 and the slope of the f+ form factor to be A+ = .019 f. .013. The data have been analyzed with a new variable, (p;)*, which isolates a sample of unique K e3 decays and is independent of the KL beam momentum. These results are compatible with the predictions of K* dominan...
